As much as we love backcountry hiking, city walks can be a lot of fun, too. Of course, the views are quite different than in the forest! Personally, I never fail to enjoy myself when I (purposely or accidentally) get lost in a city. There’s something satisfying about finding my own way, and I never say no to a bit of adventure.
In fact, one of the best ways to get to know a new city is to walk around until you get hopelessly lost, then find your way back again. Or by picking up one of those self-guided walking tour maps and just pretending you’re lost (winky face). That’s because on city walks, there are opportunities for discovering all kinds of new things, whether it be a neat little shop or restaurant, an interesting museum or exhibition, a tidbit of local history or culture…
